Hand Held Showers

Hand Held Showers

Every one may not feel comfortable under a standard shower, as it may be difficult for a few to stand for the long durations. It may fatigue them and thus deprive them from the pleasure of bathing. Amongst these few possibly deprived may be the old or sick people. Moreover, those with temporary or permanent disability may face the same problem. This disability can be due to the multiple reasons like injuries, diseases, or the postoperative care etc. For such people, hand held showers are the best solution, as these provide the user an opportunity, to take a bath, while sitting on a bath stool, bath transfer bench or a shower commode etc. With the help of these, the user can enjoy a comfortable bath, without ailing the already ailed nerves and muscles. Basically, a hand held shower is an essential device for people who have trouble standing in a shower. These allow the user to move the showerhead and position it anywhere the user needs to wash. No need, therefore, is to stand, slide or move unnecessarily or uncomfortably to wash the unreachable parts of the body. Hand held showers are relatively easy to attach to the existing shower arm, thus not burdening the user’s pocket to install a new connection particularly for the hand held showers. The user can also attach one with a diverter valve and use it in conjunction with the existing showerhead for other family members to use. A few models of these showers let the user to attach them directly to the bathtub faucet instead of having to use an existing shower arm. Other models can be attached to a wall with suction cups. Hand held showers allow the frail user to sit down while taking a shower. These are available with assorted lengths of flexible hose; which enable the user to access all the areas of his body.

One needs to be extremely careful while using a hand held shower. Water pressure and water temperature should necessarily be checked before turning the showerhead towards the body, as it can burn or hurt or bruise. There are nicest models available with the option of auto turn off for the flow of water.  The flow is automatically turned off, in case the unit is dropped on the tub floor. This can help the user to save himself from any untoward happening, as with this option, the extent of damage can be reduced to the minimum. Moreover, this can help in preventing any drowning accidents. A few versions of these hand held showers serve the purpose of saving water as well as energy. Hand held showers are often sold in kits, which contain the spray head, hose and a mounting bracket. However, the parts can be bought individually as well. Accessories such as shower holders, inline diverter and extra length hose can also be purchased separately.

Hand held showers are available in various colors, styles, designs, shapes, materials and sizes to suit the bathroom design and comfort needs. These are available with various control functions and assorted water spray patterns and capabilities on the nozzle, such as regular, pulsating and massaging modes etc.
